WHO WE ARE
The Greater Yakima Friends of the Library is an organization of local citizens interested in supporting the Library. Friends promote, encourage, and embrace the work of the library through activities such as fundraising; garnering support for library projects; sponsoring special programs; volunteering where needed; and keeping the Yakima libraries in the forefront of our community.
WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO
In the last couple of years, we've held spring and fall book sales, hosted children's book swaps, assisted with Yakima Valley Libraries' surplus sale, helped with Paula Poundstone's visit to Yakima, and purchased children and teen furnishings and various other gifts for the Yakima, West Valley (formerly Summitview) and Southeast branch libraries. Wonderful members and volunteers have helped make these activities happen. For more information, click
